    Reports are pinned at your current location. They are saved on this device; shared reports turn on when the Waypoint server is connected.

    Use your location?

    • Directions and alerts. See where you are, follow turn-by-turn directions and get a heads-up before cameras and hazards.
    • Only while Waypoint is open. No background tracking, ever.
    • Stays on your phone. Your location is only shared when you post a report. It’s never sold.

    Your phone will ask next. Choose Allow (or While using the app).

    How Waypoint uses location

    Location is blocked

    Waypoint can’t see your location, so directions and camera alerts won’t follow you. You can still browse the map. To turn it on:

    iPhone
    1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Make sure it’s on.
    2. Scroll to Safari Websites and choose While Using the App (or Ask Next Time).
    3. In Safari, tap aA (or the page menu) → Website Settings → Location → Allow.
    4. Come back to Waypoint and tap Try again.
    Samsung Galaxy / Android
    1. Swipe down from the top and make sure Location is on.
    2. Chrome: tap the icon left of the web address → Permissions → Location → Allow.
    3. Samsung Internet: menu ☰ → Settings → Sites and downloads → Site permissions → Location → allow this site.
    4. If you added Waypoint to your home screen: Settings → Apps → Chrome (or Samsung Internet) → Permissions → Location → Allow only while using the app.

    • Drive safely. Set your route before you drive and obey the road over the app.
    • Data can be wrong. Cameras and reports come from volunteers and other drivers.
    • Your privacy. Location stays on your phone unless you post a report. No ads, nothing sold.

    Before you drive

    • Mount your phone and go hands-free. Don’t type or tap while moving. Let a passenger do it.
    • The road comes first. Obey signs, signals, police and road conditions, even if Waypoint says otherwise.
    • Alerts are a heads-up. Never brake suddenly or swerve for a camera or report alert.
    • Map data can be wrong. Cameras and reports may be missing, moved or out of date.
